My Week My View!!!!

There's been a  plan always in mind to start writing again in blog about my views, thoughts and experience over a period of time,Even i had ideas on what to write and how to put things in order.I guess the inception is not too strong to make it sooner, also being lazy(since 1989 ;)) delayed the activity for a long time. The inception has grown well and finally i decided to throw the hesitation ,when i read one of my old-incompleted post on "Aayirathil Oruvan Review".

Things  are so different when i compare my old writings/post with the way how i am etching it now, i had the beautiful flow (the young adolescent mind) and crazy nature which posted everything like a river , not caring about the path it flows but runs strongly and passionately. In late Twenties , i have developed a habit of more thinking(an obsession) , which made me feel bit tired and frustrated. Probably it paved the path for me to get into writing to deviate myself and enjoy myself. Anyway thanks to the almighty(Krishna!!!!) who made me to write again!!! Hurray here I am......... My Space,My Views,My thoughts and My Journey!!!!!!!!!

Cricket- I knew that the same word excites all the indian kids till date, but being 90's Child the thought always reminds the batting legends of India- Sachin,Dravid,Ganguly and Laxman!!!!! Lately Sehwag and Yuvi!! My best memories of cricket always have these stalwarts in mind.Okay,No more past digging, lets get into present!!!

Even now i am following cricket(Including List A Matches) , but not with the same intensity and passion during my childhood days.Gurkeerat Singh is the name comes out of my mind when i shuffle it over the last week cricket .This guy seems to be good Asian All-Rounder(Not like Jadeja,I mean it!!) who has a healthy batting average and good off-break bowling in Indian Domestic circuit. It is astonishing to see an indian player taking 5 wickets and scoring more than 50 in a Match against Bangladesh ' A'-the team which has 9 of its players from senior squad,If i have written it 5 years ago, people would have laughed at me considering the form of Bangladesh then and now.I wrote about him not only due to the single match, he was the man of the match in the recently concluded Tri-Series final  for his innings with both bat and ball!!!!
He is consistently playing well in the India A matches, i feel  he is the right guy to fit into the long searching all rounder spot of india's ODI squad.Hopefully he will make the cut into the upcoming Ind vs SA Series at least for one match.(This was drafted on 18th Sep 2015, on 20th Sep Gurkeerat is selected for the first three ODI against SA)

Books- Don't worry , I am not a nerd or geek to speak about my studious side when i mention it.
I mean the novels, stories ,Magazines and biographies.I was a voracious reader during my early teens, used to read from a weekly magazine(Siruvarmalar to Any Novels). Actually the reason why i started reading more books was to avoid studying my subjects, for outsiders it might look like 'gaining knowledge' of it but truth is to keep myself delaying the inevitable. But in real sense, reading makes you to realize yourself(you soul) and calm yourself , they will mature your perception on world and make you widen your gaze on world. Sujatha's Novels, short stories are my favorites at that time, whatever be the genre he narrates things casually and  passionately. Either its about human emotions, motivational stories or science fictions or crime stories, he handled things with ease and gave the readers an awesome experience. Some of the worthy mentions are Srirangathu Thevathaigal,Aaah!,En iniya Iyanthira and Meendum Jeano.

I have read some of the Jayakanthan stories too at that time,I find his narration and contents are bit ahead of time or for my age it could be boring and slow.Contradictory to sujatha, its not so much gripping or interesting to read, but i felt something strange at the end of reading his works.May be its because of the reality that hits you hard in his lines or some mindblowing  one liners where he easily explains the content uniquely. In Last year's Chennai book Fair, I bought a Sujatha's Novel and a book of Jayakanthan stories(consolidation of short stories published in Vikatan) after giving a big thought. Commercial and fantasy appeals first to us rather than truth/Reality, so as expected i read the Sujatha's Novel first and completed it in two days.

I started reading Jayakanthan stories slowly(made me little boring), did not find/feel anything even after reading some hand picked stories.Probably my current life style(runs more like Hari's movies) made it look so pale and slow.Again last week, i picked one of the stories, "Antharangam Punithamanthu"- story about an guy in his early twenties and his view on change in life style of his parents and their Grand parents.I dont want to give away all the details of it, but to mention a few lines that made me feel why Jayakanthan is more appealing and so simple in his narration.

As this child grew with his grand parents till his studies, he find the city/Modern life of his parents so odd/alienated  when he comes back to home. The Author narrates this line in style, "He does not know that his grand parents has not started their life as a grandpa and grandma itself after marriage". Forgive me if i have not provided the meaning as such, but surely be giving you a thought to read the book.I  realized and awed that how simply he explained whole content of the story with in one line.Surely one can spend his time on reading his stories to get a calm and composed array of thoughts.

This is my post after a long time and i am not so good in English, so bear me if you feel more repetitive phrases/grammar errors. My idea is to share the thought/view which i had in the last week.
Thanks for Reading, Catch you again next week with more thoughts and views..... Journey goes on!!!!

ComeBack of WALL Is Similiar as of DADA??

As all We Know The Names WALL(Dravid) and DADA(Ganguly) in Cricket Represents Whom.
The Article Is about Their own tactics Before and after their bad times, not a comparison between them.

Both Of them Debuted in the Same Match Against england In Lords !!!

In the Recent Past ,the batting Form of Rahul Dravid is Not Great as of What He is Capable of.Its Part and Parcel of the game that every man had bad times through his Career. But Here its about Whats their tactics after such Worst display.

Coming to Sourav Ganguly,The Batsman Who is Known For His Aggression, Not so best in his Display of aggressive batting after that. The India's Best Captain ,One of the Best Left Handed Batsmen that Ever india had,Has not displayed his Full Potential in his comeback. As An Admirer of his aggressive captaincy,Me too become a fan of him.

In his ComeBack Matches ,He is Not the Same Dada as of past,He wanted to be in the crease for a Longtime Without His Regular Shots. But He stood well and displayed that He Can Score!!

But Sourav in the Past was An attacking Batsman Who is Known for his offside drives,Cutshots and Down the Track Sixes that are pleasant to watch.Fortunately He prevented his offside drives ,but Not all the Kind of shots as he is Capable of,thats really hurted me.

But He Displayed a New Dimension Of ganguly ,thats even also joyful to Watch.A batsmen who Demolished all the Pacers ,Become patient and sensible in his Shot Selection. But the EnterTainer in him is Lost!!!

Getting in to the Game,He had Done A great Job Throught his Career .I am Highlighting the Fact that He is Changed not Failed. But In Cricketing Terms It Was a Remarkable Display that Scoring 1000runs in a Calendar Year.

Coming To Dravid , I wanted To Explain My view about him at the Start of His Career. The Master Stroke Batsman Is not An entertaining Batsman , But In a Country where Cricket Is considered A religion, A batsman Like Him Wont survive.

Intially People(including Myself) disliked him Due To His Stroke Play,Even though he Scored consistently. But Getting In to Cricket as a Sport I realized that He is one of the Best Technical Batsman in the World.

Dravid Displayed Poor Batting form in the Recent SriLanka And Australia Series,But He Always Sticked To the shots What He is Capable of.Even Many of them Suggested Him that Try to Score fastly rather than His defensive Strokes at the start of innings.

But A Batsman Who Is totally dependent on his Technique and strokePlay wont want to Let them Off. But the Result Is not So Far,He Scored Century In the 2nd Test Match Against England,Displayed The Shots thats What He is Known for and is Criticised for .

He Scored His first Six Runs For 36 balls,An Indian Cricket Fan Wont Like Such display at all.But He Constructed the Game Very cleverly and gradually. Then He started Scoring Runs With his Offdrive, square drive,Straight drive in A Slow Manner.

But HE Sticked to his technique and shot selection as in the Past.He Remain The Same as what he is!!!

But the Fact that is Very similar to both of them is,Both two lost their form after Captaining India And resigned(sacked) their captaincy.

As for as Cricket,Both of them Stood well After their Worst times But in Different Dimension.
As an Indian Fan One Would Definitely definitely Miss Dada's Skills Of Agressive Batting!!!!!

But Fortunately Dravid Remained what Persons Like Me Wanted in him as of cricketing terms!!!!!

VEERU-THE DAZZLER

Virender Sehwag -India's Most attacking opening Batsman,Who paved the Way for India's Victory in The Ongoing Home Series Against England, scored 83 runs from 68.He Reached 50 in just 32 balls.
Sehwag
is a Kind of Batsman Who Doesnt Care about The type of pitch or The Bowler or The Field,
If his mind is set then No one Can Stop him.

There Are Some Proofs For his Mind Blowing Entertainment:

1.Sultan of Multan
Sehwag Scored a Triple Ton,who is the 1st Indian To reach The Mile Stone! Against the arch-Rivals Pakistan on their Soil.
Sehwag 's knock came in 364 balls and included 36 fours and six sixes.

2.Home DAZZLER

Virender Sehwag hit the fastest recorded triple-century in Test history on day three of the first Test against South Africa in Chennai.
Virender Sehwag hit the fastest recorded triple-century in Test history on day three of the first Test against South Africa in Chennai.

Matthew Hayden took 362 balls against Zimbabwe in 2003

and Walter Hammond an estimated 355 in New Zealand in 1933.

Sehwag-A Batsman every Team Wanted to Have Such Batsman Who Can Single-Handedly Take Away the Result Of the Game!! In Favour Of his Side.Even Though His Shots are criticised and he is stamped as a batsman having No Footwork and He Suffers Bad Patch Before Australian Series in Australia but He Proved that,He Can Blister even Without Any footwork, but he is improvoising in that too!!

Besides,His Right Arm Offbreak Proved To be Good in the Recent Home Series against Australia ,He took 5 Wickets in the 3rd Test!!And Got The Man of The Match Award!!!

Averaging More than 50 in his Test Career,Havin Much greater Strike Rate For His Test Career.

Is DUCKWORTH-LEWIS method easy to understand ????

When i was watching the match between England and India, suddenly i came to know about D/L method. In that match,India batted first but rain played the spoilsport. However after rain has finished its game
India played from 17th over and the match was reduced to 22 overs a side.India scored 166/4 in 22 overs and England needed 198 runs to win in 22 overs. This announcement made by using D/L method.I am writing this to explain D/L method but if u are still cant understand i am sorry that it is confusing me too.

ORIGIN :

This method, devised by Frank Duckworth and Tony Lewis,is a mathematical way of calculating the target score in an ODI or T20 interrupted by any cause.

RULES FOR APPLYING THIS METHOD :

Each team has to face atleast 20 overs in ODI or 5 overs in T20.Then only this method can be applied.

This method depends on two resources. They are 1) The number of overs a team received 2) The number of wickets they had in their hands.

FORMULA TO CALCULATE THE PERCENTAGE :

Z(u,w) = Z0(w)[1-exp{-b(w)u}]

Z(u,w) -----> Expected number of runs to be scored in u overs when w wickets have been lost.

Z0(w) -----> Average total score if an unlimited number of overs overs were available and when w wickets have been lost.

b(w) -----> Decay constant that varies with w,the number of wickets lost.

This formula cant be used without using computers. The software used to calculate this method is CODA ,which is used by ICC officials and has not been released by the governing body to the public domain.

Reading the table

The single table applies to all lengths of one-day matches from 50 overs-per-side downwards. Because this length of match is by far the most common, the resources listed in the table are expressed as percentages of those available at the start of a 50-over innings. Thus when there are 50 overs still to be received and no wickets have been lost, the resource percentage available is 100%. A 40-over innings starts with a resource percentage of 90.3% relative to a 50 over innings. An innings shortened to 25-overs before it starts commences with a resource percentage of 68.7% relative to 50-over innings. (Although such innings have only half the overs of a 50-over innings they have all 10 wickets and so have much more than half the resources.)

In order to determine the correct resource percentage the batting side has remaining at any stage of its innings, the number of overs left must be identified. This number of overs left, in conjunction with the number of wickets lost, is then used to read the resource percentage remaining from the table.

For example, suppose that after 20 out of 50 overs a team have lost 2 wickets. They have 30 overs left. From the table you will see that the resource percentage remaining is 68.2%.

Suppose now that there is an interruption in play and 10 overs are lost from the innings. When play can resume there are only 20 overs left but there are still, of course, 2 wickets down, and the table now tells us that the resource percentage remaining is 54.0%. Thus the shortening of the innings has caused the team to lose a resource percentage of 68.2 - 54.0 = 14.2%.

Having started with a resource percentage of 100% and lost 14.2%, then if they complete their innings with no further loss of overs, they will have had a resource percentage available for their innings of 100 - 14.2 = 85.8%.

So simple , isn’t it ?????

NUMBER GAME!!!

Mumbai: With a string of impressive on-field performances, including victory in the 2007 Twenty20 World Cup, India have risen to become one of the world's leading limited-overs sides.

But their recent success, first in Australia earlier this year and at home against England before last week's terror attacks led to the cancellation of the remainder of the one-day series, may not just be down to their skills with the bat and ball.

The figures may also be tilted in their favour.

Players including captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and in-form batsman Yuvraj Singh have turned to a leading Indian numerologist to determine which squad numbers they should wear on their blue uniforms.

In numerology, numbers are keys to predicting and explaining human behaviour. Each number is assigned a characteristic of certain cosmic powers and linked to planets. Birth dates are also considered auspicious.

Sanjay B. Jumaani, a Mumbai-based numerologist, said about half a dozen members of the team have come to him to help get a psychological edge over the opposition.

"In cricket, fortune is a very important aspect, from a ball that can take a wicket or be sent to the other side of the field. That can turn the fate of the game," he told AFP by telephone.

Jumaani, a newspaper columnist who is also consulted by leading Bollywood stars, said the trend was set by former India captain Sourav Ganguly and spread through the team by word of mouth as his form improved.

Among those playing the numbers game is Dhoni, born on the seventh day of the seventh month of 1981. He wears squad number seven - symbolic of dynamism and communication.

Left-hander Yuvraj, who smashed England bowler Stuart Broad for six sixes in an over in the Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa, was born on the 12th day of the 12th month in 1981.

He wears 12. One plus two adds up to three, representing not only strong Jupiter and Singh's zodiac sign, Sagittarius, but also ambition and success.

Opener Gautam Gambhir, born on October 14, 1981, is a five in numerology, which governs his zodiac sign of Libra, and symbolises dynamism. His squad number is five.

Middle-order batsman Rohit Sharma wears 45, adding up to nine - one of his three lucky numbers. Nine also represents Mars, the planet of energy and aggression.

All-rounder Irfan Pathan was advised on his squad number (63) for the same reason.

Seamer Zaheer Khan is a seven in numerology as he was born on the seventh day of October, 1978. His squad number, 34, adds up to seven.

And young seamer Ishant Sharma was told to choose 29, the first two numbers of his birth date.

Yet aggressive opener Virender Sehwag dispensed with his squad number, 44, altogether as it was "pulling him down," said Jumaani. He has since recovered his form.

"He's the only player in the world who does not wear any number," said Jumaani.

Sehwag explained: "I do not believe in astrology but my family members do. Many people used to pester me and my family to use different numbers.

"I was so fed up that I decided not to take their advice. We play Test matches without numbers and hence I do not use any number on my T-shirt," he said.

Cricketers, like most sportsmen and women, are often a superstitious bunch, whether it is keeping a red handkerchief in their pocket, putting a particular pad or boot on first or going through rituals at the crease.

Jumaani, who believes India's victory over arch-rivals Pakistan in the Twenty20 Worlds final last year, was through a fortuitous combination of numbers three, six and nine, admits numerology on its own is not enough.

"I always believe success is a mixture of fortune and hard work. It (numerology) puts you in a positive frame of mind. Psychology plays an important role but so do the vibrations," he explained.

"Once you are in a positive frame of mind, half the battle is won."

MS DHONI-The Unique Captain Of INDIA

Mahendra Singh Dhoni believes in destiny with a pinch of hard work. India's man of the moment attributes the fabulous Twenty20 World Cup win to the team's destiny.

"Whatever is destined to happen will happen. It is not just my own destiny, it was the destiny of the whole team --but I believe unless you do your required hard work you don't achieve it", he said.

Dhoni took just a fortnight to prove his mettle as the captain and if the World Cup performance is anything to go by, India has found its 'Captain Cool' in the star batsman-stumper with flowing tresses.

The 26-year-old Dhoni's maturity and composure in pressure cooker situations and his shrewd captaincy stood out in both the matches against Pakistan, as also in the semifinal against Australia.

After the group match with Pakistan ended in a tie, Dhoni asked Robin Uthappa, Virender Sehwag and Harbhajan Singh to take the bowl-out, resting his tired pacers. Dhoni anticipated such situations and had done the homework.

His opposite number Shoaib Malik was at sea and after India won the bowl-out 3-0 to maintain its clean slate against Pakistan in World Cup, Malik admitted he had no clue about it.

In the match against Australia too, Dhoni showed tremendous courage. He took a calculated gamble by asking unheralded Joginder Sharma to bowl the last over.

Teammates warned him that the Haryana all-rounder's military pace would make him an easy meat for the Aussies but Dhoni felt it would be difficult to score off Joginder's pace, or rather lack of it, and the captain stood vindicated in the end as Australia eventually lost by 15 runs.

It was the same story last night. Pakistan needed 13 runs off the last over and Dhoni again tossed the ball to Joginder.

Misbah-ul-Haq was going great guns and he hit Joginder for a six to reduce the gap but the Indian did the trick again as Misbah scooped to perish, finding S Sreesanth at short fine leg. Once again, Dhoni had outsmarted his rivals and it was as much India's win as it was for Dhoni's leadership skills.

Dhoni loves life in the fast lane, something evident from his penchant for fast bikes, and it's hardly surprising that within three years, the affable swashbuckler rose from the obscurity of Jharkhand to lead India to Twenty20 World Cup glory.

I Rate Him As the Best Captain Of INDIA,Even Though The Team Is Responsible For This Kind Of Victorious Path ,BUT The Captain Is the Main Pillar For All !!!!!!!

Australian players urged to pullout of Champions Trophy

SYDNEY: Australia's cricketers should pull out of September's Champions Trophy in Pakistan despite a decision to go ahead with the tournament, the players' association said on Friday.

The Australian Cricketers' Association said that the security risks of travelling to troubled Pakistan were too great, and it would advise its cricketers against playing in the biennial event.

The International Cricket Council decided on Thursday to keep the Champions Trophy in Pakistan but said it will appoint a commission to ensure security.

The ICC's executive board held a teleconference to discuss the possibility of moving the premier tournament because of security fears raised by Australia, England and New Zealand.

But the ACA said despite the ICC's measures, it will maintain its recommendation to Australia's cricketers not to play in Pakistan.

"The ACA continues to have serious concerns with our players touring Pakistan for the Champions Trophy and we are disappointed with the ICC's decision," ACA chief executive Paul Marsh said in a statement.

"We are seeking clarity on the purpose and role of the proposed task force, so we are unable to comment on it at this stage. Based on the independent information and advice received, we maintain that the risks are simply too great for the ACA to recommend that our players tour Pakistan at this time."

"We would expect Cricket Australia to adopt the same position," he said. The year's biggest One-day tournament, featuring the top eight One-day nations, is due to be held in Pakistan from September 11 to 28, with Australia as the defending champions.

ICC chief executive Haroon Lorgat sought to allay fears players might pull out of the event, saying the council would do all in its power to ensure their safety.

But Marsh said the ICC's decision was not a good outcome for cricket. "If it (the tournament) continues in Pakistan at this volatile time, unfortunately many of the world's best players won't participate, which is not a good outcome for cricket," he said.

Cricket Australia, which makes the final decision on whether to take part in the tournament, was expected to make a statement later on Friday.

Australia postponed a full tour of Pakistan in March-April this year due to the security situation. However, they agreed to reschedule the tour in two visits, ODIs in 2009 and Tests in 2010.
