Things are so different when i compare my old writings/post with the way how i am etching it now, i had the beautiful flow (the young adolescent mind) and crazy nature which posted everything like a river , not caring about the path it flows but runs strongly and passionately. In late Twenties , i have developed a habit of more thinking(an obsession) , which made me feel bit tired and frustrated. Probably it paved the path for me to get into writing to deviate myself and enjoy myself. Anyway thanks to the almighty(Krishna!!!!) who made me to write again!!! Hurray here I am......... My Space,My Views,My thoughts and My Journey!!!!!!!!!
Cricket- I knew that the same word excites all the indian kids till date, but being 90's Child the thought always reminds the batting legends of India- Sachin,Dravid,Ganguly and Laxman!!!!! Lately Sehwag and Yuvi!! My best memories of cricket always have these stalwarts in mind.Okay,No more past digging, lets get into present!!!
Even now i am following cricket(Including List A Matches) , but not with the same intensity and passion during my childhood days.Gurkeerat Singh is the name comes out of my mind when i shuffle it over the last week cricket .This guy seems to be good Asian All-Rounder(Not like Jadeja,I mean it!!) who has a healthy batting average and good off-break bowling in Indian Domestic circuit. It is astonishing to see an indian player taking 5 wickets and scoring more than 50 in a Match against Bangladesh ' A'-the team which has 9 of its players from senior squad,If i have written it 5 years ago, people would have laughed at me considering the form of Bangladesh then and now.I wrote about him not only due to the single match, he was the man of the match in the recently concluded Tri-Series final for his innings with both bat and ball!!!!
He is consistently playing well in the India A matches, i feel he is the right guy to fit into the long searching all rounder spot of india's ODI squad.Hopefully he will make the cut into the upcoming Ind vs SA Series at least for one match.(This was drafted on 18th Sep 2015, on 20th Sep Gurkeerat is selected for the first three ODI against SA)
Books- Don't worry , I am not a nerd or geek to speak about my studious side when i mention it.
I mean the novels, stories ,Magazines and biographies.I was a voracious reader during my early teens, used to read from a weekly magazine(Siruvarmalar to Any Novels). Actually the reason why i started reading more books was to avoid studying my subjects, for outsiders it might look like 'gaining knowledge' of it but truth is to keep myself delaying the inevitable. But in real sense, reading makes you to realize yourself(you soul) and calm yourself , they will mature your perception on world and make you widen your gaze on world. Sujatha's Novels, short stories are my favorites at that time, whatever be the genre he narrates things casually and passionately. Either its about human emotions, motivational stories or science fictions or crime stories, he handled things with ease and gave the readers an awesome experience. Some of the worthy mentions are Srirangathu Thevathaigal,Aaah!,En iniya Iyanthira and Meendum Jeano.
I have read some of the Jayakanthan stories too at that time,I find his narration and contents are bit ahead of time or for my age it could be boring and slow.Contradictory to sujatha, its not so much gripping or interesting to read, but i felt something strange at the end of reading his works.May be its because of the reality that hits you hard in his lines or some mindblowing one liners where he easily explains the content uniquely. In Last year's Chennai book Fair, I bought a Sujatha's Novel and a book of Jayakanthan stories(consolidation of short stories published in Vikatan) after giving a big thought. Commercial and fantasy appeals first to us rather than truth/Reality, so as expected i read the Sujatha's Novel first and completed it in two days.
I started reading Jayakanthan stories slowly(made me little boring), did not find/feel anything even after reading some hand picked stories.Probably my current life style(runs more like Hari's movies) made it look so pale and slow.Again last week, i picked one of the stories, "Antharangam Punithamanthu"- story about an guy in his early twenties and his view on change in life style of his parents and their Grand parents.I dont want to give away all the details of it, but to mention a few lines that made me feel why Jayakanthan is more appealing and so simple in his narration.
As this child grew with his grand parents till his studies, he find the city/Modern life of his parents so odd/alienated when he comes back to home. The Author narrates this line in style, "He does not know that his grand parents has not started their life as a grandpa and grandma itself after marriage". Forgive me if i have not provided the meaning as such, but surely be giving you a thought to read the book.I realized and awed that how simply he explained whole content of the story with in one line.Surely one can spend his time on reading his stories to get a calm and composed array of thoughts.
This is my post after a long time and i am not so good in English, so bear me if you feel more repetitive phrases/grammar errors. My idea is to share the thought/view which i had in the last week.
Thanks for Reading, Catch you again next week with more thoughts and views..... Journey goes on!!!!
